Welcome.
The combined websites debtordefense.com and debtordefender.com are dedicated to assisting consumers who are in financial trouble and want to avoid personal bankruptcy. This assistance is provided in several ways:
THE DEBTOR’S DICTIONARY—Click on “DICTIONARY” and you will have FREE access to the definitions of terms commonly used in consumer credit litigation and debt contracts. This service translates “legalese” into plain English. If you have additional words and phrases you don’t understand, simply send an e-mail stating the word or phrase and asking what it means. A response will be made by adding the term and its definition to the dictionary.
LAWLINKS—If there is a statute or a regulation you can’t find on the internet and you need to read it in order to handle your problem, we may be able to provide a LAWLINK providing easy access. The most common laws are provided FREE OF CHARGE under LINKS. We also have links to consumer assistance organizations.
NEWS—The law is constantly changing, both because of legislative action and due to decisions by the Courts. The average debtor does not have access to these developments and may be unaware of valuable rights. In our consumer news section we will provide periodic reports on NEW CASE DECISIONS from the Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals; changes in Statutory Laws; changes in State Regulations; and other topics of interest. During the legislative sessions we will attempt to monitor and report on proposed consumer law changes. We will provide a forum for other attorneys to report on their own litigation and trial level (unpublished) opinions by judges throughout the State. We may also provide a question and answer section on issues of interest not related to particular clients.
DIRECT CLIENT SERVICES—Unlike most attorneys, we are not available to go to court with you. Georgia has 159 counties and each county has several levels of courts, from Magistrate Court to State Court to Superior Court. Our state is more than 300 miles from North to South, which is too much territory for one firm to cover. Instead, what we do is analyze your debt problem (whether it is in litigation or not yet in court) and alert you to defenses, counterclaims and other issues. WE HELP YOU REPRESENT YOURSELF. We provide forms for correspondence and for litigation. If you already have an attorney, your attorney can use this same service. Debtor Defense is our expertise. Sid has represented debtors for more than 40 years (SEE “ABOUT”), and has taught many courses in Continuing Legal Education to lawyers wanting to represent debtors. WE DO NOT DO BANKRUPTCIES, but can advise how to contest obligations in bankruptcy court. Our service costs a FULLY REFUNDABLE $250 FLAT FEE, regardless of the complexity of the problem GO TO “SERVICES” FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Quotes of the Day.
All the perplexities, confusion
and distress in America arise not
from defects in their Constitution
or Confederation, nor from want of
honor or virtue, so much as
downright ignorance of the nature
of coin, credit and circulation.
—John Adams
